It’s been 10 days that we are stuck in Almérimar marina, in between the Med sea and the plastic sea of thousands square meters of greenhouses in this region. Almérimar is rather boring; it’s a huge harbor able to accommodate 800 yachts, lots of them being for sale. The marina is surrounded by vacation apartments, 99% of them are empty in this season, it says much about the liveliness of the place...
We saw again with Muriel and Stephane sailing on their Damien IV named “Iman”; we met them in Pontrieux just before with left. They are also waiting for good wind to rally the Balearic Islands and then Corsica.
Two days ago we changed the navigation light at the top of the mast for a LED and as we dreaded the starboard green light turned pale blue! We’ll surely put the LED as anchor light later and look for a more suitable LED model for our nav light.
Weather is not great, even if mostly sunny, it’s hesitating between eastern gale and western gale with one or two days of wind force close to zero in between.Yesterday it was blowing west at last but too strong and with a particularly rough sea. We'll be leaving sometime today for Cartagena 130M up north east. The sea should be calming down a little bit especially in the vicinity of the Cabo de Gata that has yet a bad reputation.
